Tuesday evening the El Paso Corvette Club held their April Monthly Meeting at Riviera Cocina & Cantina. Our special guests were the Southwestern Chapter of HOPE worldwide led by director Priscilla Mendez and her team of volunteers who serve El Paso and Las Cruces. They volunteer at El Caldito, a soup kitchen in Las Cruces that serves lunches to the homeless, every third Saturday of the month. They hope to add a location in El Paso to do the same. The Chapter does a Shoe Drive for an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico, a Food Drive for Palomas, Mexico and they do a walk-a-thon for the International Day of Giving. This year they will be starting up Saturday Academy and hosting an HYC event. In the near future they hope to be partnering with Red Cross for events like MLK Day, Fire Prevention and 9/11. The El Paso Corvette Club will be supporting this charity at our upcoming 50th Anniversary Gala in late September. More to follow on that!
