On Saturday, December 14th, 2024, member Kathleen hosted a Grub with the Club event we will long remember. The Christmas party theme was based on Charles Dickens Christmas Carol classic; so, we donned Victorian era attire and had the time of our lives. You should’ve been there. Great job, Kat, you hit it out of the park.
Christmas on the Pecos Cruise
It was a great time with the El Paso Corvette Club that began with a 170 mile cruise for a 2 1/2 hour drive to Carlsbad. It was a fun overnighter with dinner, Christmas on the Pecos River, and a hilarious after-party. Another well planned event by Team Avalos (club VP, Lou, and Treasurer, Dolores.) Well done! Thanks from all of us! Wishing you sweet cruisin', a very Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays.
Halloween Party 2024
Is it the Village People? Nope. It's the El Paso Corvette Club celebrating their 2024 Halloween Party at the El Dorado Event Venue! Great presentation by owner/members Richard and Gloria Garcia who also own El Paso Catering. And what was for dinner? Delicious ribs of course! Hmmm…there sure were a lot of skeletons hanging around. Great event and nicely done by our member hosts Lou & Dolores Avalos. A great time was had by all!
OCTOBER CRUISE IN It was a wonderful evening for a Cruise In on Friday, 25 October! Great friends and fun!
50th Anniversary Gala
Saturday, September 21st, 2024, the El Paso Corvette Club celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a Gala in grand style at the historic Woman’s Club of El Paso. Live music was provided by the Sun City Cruisers. The Gala was a benefit for the Hope Worldwide charity. It was an awesome party. Thank you, Paul Salazar, David Baade, and Jeff Chavez for coordinating the event, and a special thanks to all the club members and all the organizations that supported the event.
SEPTEMBER 7th GWTC LUAU
The El Paso Corvette Club and friends celebrated member, Cynthia Sigala's, Five-Oh Birthday in Aloha style with a Luau. Hosted by Jeff & Cynthia, the very colorful feast included a Kalua pig fresh out of someone's secret imu. Members and friends contributed side dishes and desserts. It was an incredible evening. Wish we could describe it better, so the pictures will have to do. Mahalo and Ke Aloha to all who contributed.
AUGUST CRUISE
It was a great day for a cruise. The El Paso Corvette Club headed east to San Eli and stocked up on cheese and other goodies at Licon Dairy and then had lunch in Socorro at Wine Down. Wine Down is a great place with charming ambiance in a hacienda style setting. Their friendly staff serves wine from Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico. The food was tasty and includes some nice charcuterie and other nice wine pairings. We all had a great time.
DAY ONE
These are Day One pics from the 2024 Texas Corvette Association Open Car Show cruise to Boerne, Texas. The club met early in the morning in Clint to begin our 500-mile cruise to Boerne, Texas. We had some friends from West Texas Vettes join us for the weekend. We stopped for lunch in Fort Stockton and to refuel for the rest of the cruise. Our plan was to make it in time for the Texas Corvette Association Open Car Show Meet and Greet for some refreshments, make new friends from around the country, and to get our placards for the car show the next day. Special thanks to awesome club members, Oscar & Rosy, who brought us breakfast even though they couldn’t make the trip, and to Kat who brought do-nots! You guys rock!
DAY TWO
These are Day 2 pics from the 2024 Texas Corvette Association Open Car Show in Boerne, Texas. Another great display of all 8 generations of Corvettes including the new Corvette E-Ray and other beautiful rides from classic cars, customs, and exotic cars from all over Texas and beyond. There was a lot of anxiety over the rain and T-storms in the forecast. Turned out to be just a cloudy day which was perfect to keep the temps and cars cool! Icing on the cake was a class award for members, Tracy & Bernadette’s, 2024 C8 Z06. Well done and congratulations, you two! We concluded our day with a nice dinner at the Cypress Grille in Boerne and our usual after-party shenanigans at the hotel. Enjoy the eye-candy.
DAY THREE
These are Day 3 pics from the 2024 Texas Corvette Association Open Car Show in Boerne, Texas. The day after the car show, the El Paso Corvette Club set out on a cruise through Texas Hill Country. We had stops in Luckenbach, Fredericksburg, and enjoyed a little wine tasting and a nice lunch at Altstadt Brewery in Fredericksburg. It was a beautiful day for cruising. On our way back to the hotel we had dinner at Cibolo Creek Brewing Co. on Main Street in Boerne. Afterwards we celebrated our weekend with our usual shenanigans, 50/50, and karaoke at the hotel.
MARCH CRUISE-IN Our first El Paso Corvette Club Cruise-In took place on Friday, March 29th. Even though there was some wind, there were plenty of corvettes to look at! I would like to thank Gil and the crew at 3rd Engine Brewing Company for hosting us and treating us well!
Saturday, March 16th, the El Paso Corvette Club held its 1st Quarter Grub with the Club and celebrated St. Paddy's Day. A good time was had by all. It was hosted by Tim & Sarita O'Malley and the weather cooperated by providing a nice evening. Enjoy the pics!
Valentine's Cruise On Sunday, February 18th, the El Paso Corvette Club held our annual Valentines Day Cruise, which was also our first cruise of this year. We had a wonderful turn out with a lucky number of 13 corvettes and 20 members attending this event! We left El Paso and cruised up scenic Highway 28. We stopped in La Mesa, New Mexico, for a photo shoot next to Chope’s Bar and Café. Then we continued to Lorenzo’s Italian Restaurant in Las Cruces, New Mexico. We were met by the owner, Vince, who was very excited to have us at his establishment. We all enjoyed a great meal which was served by a wonderful staff. After our meal, we drove back down Highway 28 to Public House 28 Brewery where we enjoyed the rest of the beautiful afternoon enjoying each other’s company. It was a great way to start off the 2024 year, our 50th as a club, with a great cruise and wonderful people!
Saturday, January 20th, the El Paso Corvette Club held their 2024 Annual Banquet in celebration of their 50th Anniversary of the founding of the club. The evening included dining, dancing, an award ceremony, great music with our own DJ, David Baade; a slide show of 2023 highlights, raffle, and just a great time celebrating friendship, and of course, America’s Sports Car, the Corvette! Cheers to 2024!
