El Paso Corvette Club Meeting Minutes

Meeting Called to Order by Carrie Kerby, President @ 7:05 PM

 

 

Welcome:  Members

 

New Members:  none.

 

Review Minutes:  Motion to approve May Minutes, seconded and approved. 

 

Financial Report:  Carrie said there is $4,023.63 in the bank.  No records were still available, but made disbursements for Ken’s Flowers and SWC Picnic and with those disbursements the new balance will be $3,703.10.

 

Membership Report:  Carrie noted we have 116 members, 5 FCOA members .

 

Governors Report:  Fred – Web is still a work in progress, updates daily as necessary.  There will be a regional governors meeting in Ruidoso during our event.

 

Events/Recap:

Recap of AFD event by Mando – thanks to a group effort from SW Mopar, Early Times, Rio Grande Wheels and El Paso Corvettes we fed over 500 soldiers and their families.

 

June 14th La Terraza had 15 Vettes, thanks to all who participated.

 

Colonel Powell will be returning soon from overseas.

 

Upcoming Events/ Socials

 

Mystery Cruise to be headed by Dave Minton and Ray Adauto set for Saturday June 28th, meet at Kohl’s on the Westside at 4:00 PM for some fun.

 

BobO’s on July 3rd – if we get 100 people we get the park to ourselves.  Open to all car clubs with bragging rights for the best driver.

 

NCCC Event Ruidoso July 18, 19 & 20 to be named in honor of Ken

“The Ken Daby Great Summer Escape” Book early for hotel reservations (Rms $113) only 23 at this price book before the Fourth of July.

Mission Car Show originally set for September 13th this year is being postponed to accommodate the Tucson Corvette Clubs “Silver City Cruise”. 

The new date is September 20th.

Cars Under the Stars is set for October 11th 

  Cash awards 12PM – 3PM set up for cars, show starts then and runs to 11PM

  Entry is $25.00

Ken’s Brick:  It appears the Flint brick was sold out.  Carrie suggested the new walk of fame brick for the new building.  Approval to buy the $250.00 walkway brick was seconded and passed.  2nd option approved for the $150.00 brick if the first is not available.

 

Discussion on bylaws and members duties – Carrie Highlighted the basic areas – Incorporation – Membership – Notice of Meetings – Quorum Voting – Officers at Large -  A vote to approve was made, seconded and approved.

 

A motion to have the July 17th meeting to be moved to July 18th Friday night at Ruidoso carried.  A motion to have the August 21st  club meeting at Great American Steakburger on Gateway North near Trans Mountain also passed.
